The first poster for George Clooney's next directorial endeavor, The Monuments Men, doesn't need to be especially complicated.

Really all it needs to do make it clear that this movie does indeed star Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, and Cate Blanchett.  That's exactly what it does, putting the eponymous fellows front and center, but only listing Blanchett by name.

Remember, the enemy's gate is down.  It's also behind you.

Or at least it's behind the Battle School cadet on the final poster for this year's Ender's Game.

The upcoming based-on-a-true-story thriller Captain Phillips now has two new posters, one with Tom Hanks as the eponymous captain and one without.

Both convey pretty cleanly that Paul Greengrass's latest will be suitably intense.

"In a war between kings, even a pawn can change the game."

So declares the first theatrical one sheet for Paranoia, a unique thriller that follows a white knuckle battle of wills and wits between two titans of modern industry, with one ordinary man trapped between them.

Yo, where the zombies at?

A new poster for World War Z is making the rounds online thanks to Paramount Pictures.  This latest look at the biggest, most expensive zombie movie ever made features not a single reanimated corpse, but instead gives us a slice of Brad Pitt's pretty profile and a sense of citywide collapse.

Having made a big impression with the stylized The Wolverine posters showing Hugh Jackman's signature character represented in a simple Japanese style, 20th Century Fox has unveiled another poster in the same style.

This one depicts an opponent of Logan's that we've seen very little of so far: The Silver Samurai.

Remember when movies, even big summer movies, only had one poster, maybe two on account of a teaser poster?

Those days are long gone, and Pacific Rim is no exception during what's shaping up to be the summer of peak poster with another one sheet showing off the towering Jaegers ready to kick some unholy Kaiju ass.

This summer marks peak poster.  The point at which one sheet production is maximized before this precious natural resource is virtually tapped out and inexorably declines.

If all the posters we've been seeing for big summer movies looked more like this new one sheet promoting Pacific Rim, though, it'd be worth the current overflow of character posters, teaser posters, and international posters.

If you're going to Vegas, you might as well put on a suit and give the whole endeavor some Sinatra-style class.

The latest poster for The Hangover Part III agrees.  It puts Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, and Ed Helms in black and white ensembles for their return to the site of the Wolfpack's first misadventure.

It may not contain any superheroes per-se, but this summer's would-be buster of blocks The Lone Ranger does feature a masked avenger and his best buddy.

Both the title character and Tonto, as played by Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp, are well represented on two new character posters, complete with a mask for the ranger and the stylized facepaint/dead bird combo favored by his Native American buddy.
